Lemon Festival - Historic Downtown Upland
I covered the Lemon Festival this weekend in Downtown Upland. For some reason I like this place... it probably reminds me of my hometown (San Pedro, Argentina) and its little cozy downtown.
Anyway, here are some photos I like:
Jarvis and his daughter Kenya.
I should probably save this photo, Kenya is a natural model and she loves the camera... a future Tyra Banks.

O.C.
I went to Orange County today. The first stop was at Doheny Beach in Dana Point to shoot the 'woodies'. Let me clarify the word for those not familiar with it... A woodie is a type of car, more specifically an early station wagon in which the rear portion of the car's bodywork is made of wood.
The event is organized by the Southern California Woodie Club which has grown to over 300 members.
It was a nice overcast day really good for shooting and most of the cars were really amazing. I'll try to post a gallery later but here's one of my favorites:
::Some more here::
As I was driving back home I realized I was minutes away from the San Juan Capistrano Mission and I couldn't resist to stop by and shoot some pictures... if you can call over 200 some ;-)
You cannot see the mission here but I like this one... I had to wait for a long time to get this guy to do this, it was specially difficult since I didn't have any food:
One of the actual mission:
And lastly, I saw from the 57 freeway these giant baseball caps at the entrance of the Angel Stadium in Anaheim and again I had to stop:

The Getty Villa
A couple of weekends ago I went to the recently reopened Getty Villa in Malibu.
The villa, restored to its original grandeur, partially recreates the famous Roman Villa dei Papiri from Herculaneum (preserved during the volcanic eruption of Italy's Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD). Closed since 1997 for serious renovations and major expansion ($275 million), the Getty Villa's renewed structure and expanded campus, designed by Boston's Machado & Silvetti Associates, include a conservation center, library for scholarly research and a 450-seat outdoor amphitheater, based on a Roman model. More than 1200 objects from the Getty's exhaustive collection of some 44,000 artworks are displayed in the villa's 23 galleries.
What Machado and Silvetti have done is to make of the villa itself an object of art to be contemplated and appreciated.
The numbers of visitors is limited so you may have to wait a little for your visit but the upside is it relaxes the whole experience. Parking, viewing the grounds and the artwork, eating etc. is a real pleasure. Take a look at the photos and you'll realize what I'm talking about, no big crowds anywhere and I was there from 2pm to 5pm.
The Getty Villa is located at: 17985 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, CA. Admission is free but parking costs $7.00 (cash only). Free timed tickets are available online at www.getty.edu or by calling (310) 440-7300.

Welcome!
Hi and welcome to my journal on the web. This is my very first post and I'm glad you stopped by. This image is from a recent photoshoot and is one of the first selects for a new client I'm working with.
Today I took it easy and instead of staying home working I went to the local Borders for a coffee and a slice of chocolate cake and to read all day about photography. I haven't been feeling well for the past week and I still feel weird. I hope I get better since I have a lot of work to do at the office.
Homemade Chao-Min and my favorite TV show (The Sopranos) await me in the kitchen... my favorite way to end the weekend.
That's it for now... please check back soon. I probably won't be able to post every day but I'll do my best.
Take Care
Rudy
